When the C effect 'whines', it is 100% certain that the
power line going to it has noise on it.
And if the noise is only there when one or more extra effects are 
piggybacked on the power, then that is a sign that the power
supply regulation and/or filter ing is inadequate when the 
additional current is drawn.

Note that some effects  can give perfect results with even a very 
noisy power supply, but others are very susceptible to noise on 
the power.

And - though i do not think this is the case here - some effects 
CANNOT run from the same power supply, because of the
power being connected in a different way to the circuit. 

I have seen more effects destroyed by connecting 'wrong'
power supplies than from any other cause.
