Hi folks,

I had the same "whining" sound when I tried to power the Korg AX5G and
one or two other stomp-boxes using the same wall-wart. The one I used
had definitely enough "headroom" (9V @ 1A) to power about 10 at a time.
I think some DSP-based stomp-boxes may run into this, just because many
of them use step-down converters to power the DSP/RAM/etc.. Switching
converters are often used in these to have an high efficiency voltage
regulation, so there is less power turned into heat compared to
old-school linear regulators - think of battery life...
