Hehe, he's even referring to SDIY list 2009 for discussions
about matrix panels, two posts but its here alright! :-)

Yes, really ugly and that's EXACTLY what i feared early on first with
the IDC solution and then the Lab plate. But, there are a neat solution
to it, one solder two L angled pin list in between metal rims an viola'
one gets a flat cable adapted lab plate, and one can use any IDC
connector size, its very easy to do, neat and tidy no cable mess.
One should actually mount the Lab plate beneath the front panel, it
looks a lot more professional then top mounted.
