Really? Isn't the whole Euro-rack and other mini - 1/8" jack modular
formats based on the use of these jacks?
Somebody must be making a decent jack by now.
Actually if you mean stereo versions suck then maybe so but you could
do the same with mono jacks and use ground and tip instead of ring and tip.
