Ok, point taken, but at least let me finish what I'm working on now  
before you give me another project!

I hope you're right though - if you could use a 32-bit timer to  
generate a variable sample rate from the 40MHz instruction clock, and  
then use DMA to shift samples out to the DAC, you'd have a PPG  
oscillator with virtually no overhead.

How to do wavetable crossfades though?
