[sdiy] UK guys - Rapid EndLine Sale Today!

Rapid have always been pretty good for me, regardless of the size of
the order. I don't know what it's like for NON-UK customers.
One thing I do like about them, is that if you do a telephone order,
you give them an order code and the number of items you want, and they
tell you what the item description is. A useful double-check.

IMO they're better than RS in this regard. I rang RS once because I
couldn't get the internet order to work. I told the sales guy who
answered that I wanted to place an order, but couldn't do it online,
and he actually said "what do you want me to do about it?"

er....., well how about taking the order over the phone?

Also, after I gave him each order code there was a deafening silence.
At one point I actually asked if he was still there..... I got a grunt
in reply.
Naughty RS....
might have been a one-off thing though...

Rapid are *way* better in stuff like that, and they are cheap, and
carry a lot of useful stuff. There are gaps though, I needed a parallel
EEPROM, and some wire-wrap tools as part of an order for a friend, and
RS was the only place that had those items.....

When Rapid mixed up some LED displays (I got common anode rather than
common cathode) and on another occasion when a chip got squashed in
transit, they simply mailed the new parts out, and I didn't need to
send the old ones back.

Thanks to Tom Bugs' tip way back to try them - they've been good to
me...
