Sorry guys -- this is really bizarre - firstly, the site today has been 
really screwy for me for some reason - I just lost all my cart and 
things have been slow as hell (hard to tell why)
So I phoned up Rapid and asked - first about the errors I'd been getting 
(they didn't have a clue) but then about the end-column sale that was 
appearing. Turns out that they've decided to give me end-column pricing 
- not sure why they've done this & they didn't tell me - apparently it 
is permanent for me so this is a real bonanza! So, very sorry for the 
mis-information (don't want it to seem like a gloat). Now, back to 
reprocessing the order I just lost from the system!

PS -- I generally really like Rapid but that only really applies within 
the UK though I have urged them to offer better shipping rates outside 
the UK.
They are very helpful and friendly and I think they have an excellent 
line - not too overwhelming like some of the main names, but with a lot 
of quality for good prices.
I get maybe 3/4 of my components from them and have rarely had any 
problems at all (and they've always been very quick to sort anything out 
if a problem does occur)
