I was just reading about his 990 op-amp and their use in the M1 and M2 
mike amplifiers. His pages leaves little to the interested party to 
worry much about. Schematics and comments is on an out-standing level.
The one things I do wonder about is the flicker noise of those.

If you go to the 990 PDF and read, you will understand what I mean. 
Recommended for Synth-DIYers. While I could clone the 990, I am not sure 
it would be worth the trouble considering that the 990 isn't THAT 
expensive, even if it is not cheap.

Building op-amps like this is however not without its merits.
