...and on another note, concerning the CGS ASR:

I see on the electro-music forum that some folks are complaining about the
performance of the ASR unit, and have narrowed it down to the '4052 analog
MUX.  I wasn't aware that analog MUXes presented such problems.  In any
case, some are advocating the use of the DG409 in place of the CD4052, which
would have the added benefit of eliminating the requirement for the signal
conditioning circuitry in the ASR, since the '409 can handle bipolar inputs
all the way to +/-15V.

Has anyone here tried this?  Has anyone had particular problems with the
circuit as designed?

Also, does anyone have any insight as to why the AD version of the '409 is
twice as expensive as the Intersil version?  Is it measurably better?
