Yes i know, i just wanted to be badly wrong!
Sometimes one hope on manual typos, but not this time! :(

Actually it has nothing to do with number of pins on a particularely
package (compare with STM32/MSP470 for instance) its just a matter of
internal muxes for routing the available functions to i/o pins.

Looking at the MC variant there are similar limitations on
routing timers to OC modules which are a more serious limitation.

One could compare to the most basic and old Hitachi 16 bit Mcus,
12 timers, all cascadable in any way, all timer out to a dedicated
OC, no fuzz just taking care of resources given.
