Isopropanol is not suited to clean off tar since the tar is not
chemically soluble in alcohol. What does help are the textile spray
products used for freshening up couches, drapes, etc. They can solve
it up actually and break up the tar into stuff you can wash off more
easily. Do not hesitate to apply it copiously.
