well i went ahead and created a new list @yahoo anyway.

it's called synth_diy, with an underscore, as there's already a list 
called synthdiy.

currently membership is moderated and posting is moderated. i expect 
that i will be able to relax the latter at some point, but the 
situation currently demands a fairly tight level of moderation.

i am up on email most hours of the day and so i expect subscribing 
and posting to be low-latency operations.

it's time we took this list off the stone age service it's on and 
onto at least a bronze age one.
