I've been successful in taking most the files I get and putting them into the LTspiceIV\lib\sub and LTspiceIV\lib\sym\Opamps directories.
Here's the .asy and .sub files I use for the LM13700. Got the sub/mod file directly from National.
Hope this gives some insight.
