Magnification requirements are limited, but to reduce eyestrain it is a 
must that it is stereo/binocular.  It is important for the microscope to 
be mounted on an adjustable boom so that you can work on reasonable 
sized pcbs.  This is also important for inspection when you may need to 
look at the board edge on.  Also, adjustable lighting make your job much 
easier.
