The capacitor is on the primary side of the transformer, right?
If so it's a suppression cap. A rating of 250V AC should be okay. Oh,
and it should be either a DVL or X/Y type.
The special thing about these capacitors is, that if they blow up they
will not cause a fire or expose the blank metal. It's a safety feature..
