[sdiy] bizarre Prophet 600 LFO solved..I hope...

THE REAL PROBLEM...appears to have been (don't discount obscure random
simultaneous anomalies..that seem to plague me through the years..lol)
the cpu.

Just cooling the cpu a few degrees in temperature. Very strange. So
apparently something....like it can't decrement consistently? ayieeee.
Anyway I can consistently cool it down and the problem goes
away..gradually warms up and the lfo gradually goes to bunk. When I was
observing briefly the issue with the frequency not being able to
change... I think that might have been dirty selector switch. Cleaned
that up and that issue went away. Anyway

Ok... I have the eprom revision document that was on notelt's site. It
claims 0_4 is the first rev issued. The manual seems to indicate
however that there was a rev 0.2 they were saying to put in. My chip
was a 0.1 in number 512. Does anyone know how many of these were
produced? I'm guessing maybe 7 or so thousand from serials I've seen.
This number 5679 anyway I think it is had the rare eprom with a defect
notelt's note said.

Anyway if anyone can tell me what the problem is with 0_7... 'error in
the operating system'. I haven't been able to get it to mess up any
other way. Would appreciate knowing if I need to burn another one. If
greg or someone has the code for 0_8 handy that'd be swell. Otherwise I
can open the other one I have here and burn a copy to replace the
defective one. -Bob
