It appears my first hunch was right.  I swapped the EPROM after playing 
with it a bit. Put in the old version 1.0 I had in my tray.  The lfo 
works great with that in there...

  My friend on the phone said that I could easily get signed on a label 
doing 'glitch' music with some of the stuff I was doing with it! LOL.  I 
was modulating a sound with that weird half wave lfo half wave garble.  
and arpeggiating and varying the lfo rate and some filter settings while 
playing chords on it.
