Hi Paul,
Sorry to hear of your loss. That sux. (Someone ripped off my laptop from my place of business two years ago, so I feel your pain!)
Anyhoo... I love my Fluke 117. I picked it up used on ebay for $105 about a year ago. It is nice and accurate, has 10MΩ internal resistance, and even has a semi-usable frequency counter.
AVOID this one that Harbor Freight (and other Chinese products stores) offer:

The power button is located in a place where it gets pressed in when you have the front of the case on for transport, and then it dies while in your backpack. A friend bought one the same time I did, and his flip up screen shorted two weeks after he bought it. I guess it was a good purchase for an electronics student, however, as it gave him his first opportunity to troubleshoot and repair something! ;-)
