Phat at one end.. phin at the other.
But I am a strong proponent of designing the panel first,
otherwise you end up with things like the DX7.

Seriously though, the trouble with committee design is that you usually - 
after all the compromises - end with something that NOBODY much likes.
Whereas if a single person designs their own ideal synth, then at least ONE
person will like it - and maybe more!
