Luckily nothing like this ever happens in synth design or marketing, or in studio engineering. ;)

They would if they wanted to, but they don't.
They don't because for these people the real product/service is the ability to waste mountains of cash, to flout the rules of the real world and to feel that they are blessed with a sensitivity and discernment far beyond the norm.
The cable (or whatever) is just a *reminder* that they have all of these very important personal qualities.
Is $2000/m too much to pay for a product that strokes someone's narcissistic ego and makes them feel very, very special every time they use it?
