Whether these problems are really related to solder joints or not has not 
yet conclusively settled.  Some of the "repair methods" you can find on the 
net most certainly don't have any direct effect on the solder joints.

Check out the pizza oven technique, although a large PCB like the XBox would 
be difficult to heat evenly without extensive modifications.  Some people 
have reported using their baking ovens, but I don't think you'll get a fast 
enough temperature rise/fall.  Beta Layout even sells an electric tabletop 
pizza oven with their "Reflow Kit".
