I use the 16mm Alpha pots from Small Bear Electronics.  See here:

They are the RV16AF-41 pots, fourth one down on this page:

with the 15R1 shaft (round, 6mm diameter, 15mm from tip to bottom of
threads).  They are just the normal 16mm Alpha pots with special pins which
allow them to be mounted on PCB.  The pins are 0.2" apart.

One nice thing about these is that the pins are long enough to give you a
little bit of slop for alignment purposes.
