I've never encountered any issues with the Xeltek 580U or 5000E.  Xeltek
seems like a solid company that will be around for the duration.  This is
important when investing $800 or more in a programmer.

They're distributed by Dataman in the US.  I have a SmartProg2 that I
snagged on ebay for a good price.  It performs well and programs very
quickly.  Especially handy when burning 4mbit and other large devices.  The
Elnec devices are FPGA based and are significantly faster than the older
microprocessor based programmer I have.
