Subject: [sdiy] Encoder + LED ring

Hi!

I'm thinking about building a hybrid sequencer with rotary encoders. It
would be very nice to have those LED rings to indicate the current
position of the encoder in order to combine the benefits of using rotary
encoders (different scales realised programmatically, recall, etc.) and
the benefits of regular pots (current value is visible at all times).
Now I do not know where to get them (preferably at a decent price of
course) in Europe (specifically Germany). One idea I had was to
canibalize a Behringer BCR-2000 which has lots of those encoders with
LED rings, but I am unsure whether I can easily use them in my own
design. Maybe someone has already done something like this? Thanks!

	Thomas
