The advantage of the integrator is that it is highly unlikely to suffer
non destructive latch up or input phase reversal.
FET op-amps and quite a few others will latch up if the inputs exceed
the allowable operating range. This happens easily with a voltage
follower circuit if you do not restrict the input voltage. At power up
with only the output of an OTA and a cap on it's non inverting input pin
the op-amp there is a strong possibility it will latch up.
