Hi,

I'm designing a VC LFO based on the Moog Source LFO. I wanted it to be
resetable so I used an op amp integrator after the LM13700 voltage
controlled current source and can reset the integrator cap with a
transistor. I did it this way as I thought the LM13700 wouldn't like its
current output shorted to ground, however reading the datasheet it says:

Output short circuit duration: continuous
And peak output current is specified for RL of 0 ohms, so I guess it's
OK to short the output. I tried it and no smoke came out...

What are the advantages/disadvantages of using an op amp integrator on
the LM13700 output rather than just using an integrator cap followed by
an op amp buffer? I tried it both ways and it didn't seem to make any
difference.

Regards,
Stewart.
