Yes it is supposed to give you an average tracking over 7 octaves (but a
good one though).
First I start by setting the V/Oct for one octave, because it is simpler
to achieve
for one octave first. Still once it's done it won't give you a perfect
tracking over a large octave range,
you have to refine the tracking octave per octave.
