Yes.
I had a bunch of MAX511 and it was easier
to design it that way. The prototype too was 
simpler to test. But yes I could have design it
like many other multiplexed type MIDI2CV.
I'm very happy with the results since like I stated
earlier the CV outputs are very stable.
