When checking tracking, one has to be very careful
not to have the temperature of any of the parts change
while measuring. Otherwise, temperature effects will 
complicate matters.
A bit of breeze in the room can wreak havoc.
Even if everything is accurately and fully temperature compensated,
if it is possible for different components to be differently exposed to
air currents, then the measurements will be off.
