It's conceivable this could happen via coupling on the PS lines.  The 
chaotic patterns are very sensitive to all the parameters in the system, so 
a small amount of cross-talk could cause a significant change in the 
outputs.  Without knowing the details of your layout it isn't possible to 
be more specific, but I'd say make sure the two sets of PS lines are run 
separately, with good bypassing where they meet.
