I agree. The bar is not that high, but he was
not able to get over. His work on the theory
of transistors, and getting Silicon Valley
going were important, but personally he was
a miserable human being.
As a side note, even if he was the driving
force behind the transistor and was the sole
party responsible for its invention, that
still would not excuse his other behaviors.
I wish we could spot someone and say "here
is someone good all the way through", but I
even fail that test of myself on a daily
basis. We all can try harder. This is a
great list.
