I've been experimenting with it for a few weeks and it seems pretty
solid to me.  I've not used CAD software before so it's taking some
getting used to but the built in database of components has helped some
of my designs immensely.

One thing I've noticed about the Linux port of kicad is that it appears
to be sensitive to the Gnome theme loaded at the time.  Certain themes
prevent the command icons from appearing.
