sounds like cmos 555 is the way to go. I tried running the power to the existing 555s through 1Ks and that helped quite a bit but now I'm having some issues getting the transistors to switch completely... still some signal bleed through. Oh well. I'll get to the bottom of it sooner or later. Thanks guys! -pete
