 Hi list,

Recently I just bought an Eventide FL-201 Instant flanger and connected it
between an Harman / Kardon tuner output
and 1 input from my hifi amp to do some tests..
Well I cannot get any flanging from the unit so far...
Here is my setup:
One of the tuner output (left) connected unbalanced
to the (+) and C input screws repectively.
The flanger Main output (+) and C screws connected
to one of my hifi amplifier input still unbalanced.
When the LINE switch is pulled out everything is bypassed (no effect) OK.
When the LINE switch is puched in the LINE led lite OK.
Moving all the controls one at a time the dedicated leds lit
as supposed, the potentiometer called DOEPLER changes
the overall volume, not else, no effect with all other pots.
I read the flanger manual for the procedure to check
if the incoming signal is strong enough using the ENVELOPE FOLLOWER pots
and according to the book my incoming signal is strong enough.
(I know that a weak signal won't result to a good flanging effect).
The serial number is s/n 20785.

Some months ago I ordered from Eventide a service manual
for the Eventide FL201 Instant flanger.
On receiving the manual I noticed the schematic missed
the important board called the delay board that plugs in
the center of the motherboard using an edge connector.

Here are my questions:
-A schematic of the delay board used in this unit
would help me so much. If I can't get one I'll have
to reverse engineer all this board to understand its workings.. Painfull.
I'm ready to pay for that small board schematic.
Next are some details for your help
The motherboard behaves correctly. I mean all the IC's
working with the potentiometers work. I can see with my scope
the control voltage that drives the voltage controled clock
that sweeps the delay board but in the delay board no clock found anywhere.
The delay board uses these chips:
4 X CD4066BCN (supplied @ 7VDC)
3 X TL084 (supplied @ +/- 15vdc)
2 X TL082
1 X LM710CH

- Is it normal there are no BBD delay chips on that board like most FL201 have?

- Can somebody sketch me a wiring connection to use with success
mono unbalanced / stereo unbalanced?

-Do I need to use both MAIN & AUX outputs together
to get a flanging effect from a mono input?

I use a lot of these type
of machines with success but now I suspect a dead delay board...hope I'm wrong
Your help is very important to me.

J-P
