You guys want to learn of another stupid one, Google "EUP lot 6".
This is a similar decree to have 1W standby power on things without a 
display, 2W with a display.
With the inefficiencies of wallwarts and then regulators down the foodchain, 
it gets pretty rediculous.
Adds unnecessary cost to a product and hurts its usability and feature set.
Also it is so poorly officiated that we get zero response when we want 
clarifications.
Big business is going with it - like the router guys, computer guys, tv 
guys, etc.
This would be fine for things that waste power otherwise, but now we are 
just adding more crap to toss in the junk
heap due to forced obsolesense and short product lifetimes....
And I don't know who the ROHAS/EUP etc. cops are....
I wish someone would blatently fight this stuff.
Apologies to those environmentalists here - I just think your agendas would 
be better targeted on things that all agree are beneficial and have less 
negative impact.  Say like putting a solar panel setup on my roof....
