What you need to realize is that the impOscar is not going to sound
anything like a real Oscar. It's probably going to have a (poor)
emulation of the Moog ladder (this is what I remember from years back
when I used it - my memory's hazy though), and will have a very simple
additive oscillator instead of something that introduces all the
artifacts the Oscar's sound generator would. A completely different
timbre.

IMO any hardware DCO polysynth will be a move up for you. I suggest a
JX3P, since they go cheap and have amazing filters still. The Oscar
uses DCOs as well, this is the sound you're looking for essentially.
