[sdiy] Graphic equalizers

Graphic equalizers are based on peaking filters, a totally different topology from the bandpass filters that make up filter banks. You can only get a boost/cut (with corresponding change in bandwidth) at a certain frequency, so it doesn't split the signal into independent bands that can be independently controlled or split up, etc.

They're still good for some tricks (interesting "pseudo-stereo" effects), but no substitute for a filter bank.
