[sdiy] Graphic equalizers

I was just at the local second-hand music store in Vancouver, and there were
several stereo graphic equalizers for $10 to $35.  Do these work as fixed
filter banks for synths?  If not, it might be worth it just for the panel
components.  One Technics model had lovely sliders, in a metallic finish
very smooth action with a good solid detent in the middle...
