[sdiy] most efficient way to get 5V from 12V?

Danjel, as the design is for commercial sale, a happy medium would be
jumpers to select between outboard or onboard +5V. If this were a design
for personal use, I'd definitely recommend dedicated outboard +5V.

As for Doepfer placing +5V on the power connector, but not the standard
power supply: it is well within the Doepfer design principle. Pay for
only what you need. If you want +5V, Dieter offers a couple different
ways to get +5V into the system. Also, keep in mind that until recently,
there where few modules in the euro rack system that required +5V.
