[sdiy] Wire insulation choices

I've been working on the first of two panels for the JH Living VCO. I am
quite frustrated with melting insulation and ugly point to point wires.

I want to purchase a couple of 100 foot rolls of good quality hook up wire.
What do you all recommend?

Teflon doesn't creep, and has high temp, but as I recall, it's pretty stiff
and expensive.
PVC is OK, but can I get some that won't melt the second my iron touches it?
Nylon?
Other?

I really don't like wiring panels...

David
