There's at least one synth that uses 4066 switches (which aren't very 
high performance switches) in the VCO core: the Octave Cat SRM.  It's 
also interesting in that it uses a CD4093 Schmidt-nand instead of a 
comparator.  If anyone is interested and can't find the schematic I can 
post the schematic page.
