Duh. I was assuming a current that sinks to -V.
However, since the current sinks to ground then increasing the summing
resistor will shorten both ends of the range.
I understand why you don't want to put those resistors in, it would be an
ugly mod. It's advantage would be to separately control how much effect it
has on each end of the range.
