[sdiy] Importance of electrical test at PCB manufacturing?

On the subjest of testing, if I were to ever
return to manufacturing - even at my tiny scale -
I would definitely make sure I provided easily
accessible test points so if the device develops a fault
either by manufacturing error or by other damage after use
I could easily localise the error.

Even more important with surface mount. I have been in
the unhappy position of doing MORE damage by probes
shorting stuff while i am trying to measure key voltages.

I weep when I think how much time I could have saved
over the years had I done this. Compared to this, the question of
actual bare board test is insignificant.
