Hi Paul & list,

I've had a similar dilemma. What I do is wrap masking tape around the 
end of the driver so that it overlaps the end by about 1/8 inch. I fold 
overlap into the hex socket part and, with an exacto knife, trim out the 
tape that is inside the hex socket so that just edge that rubs against 
the panel is covered.
The tape is thin enough that it doesn't sacrifice metal-to-metal contact 
with the nut itself.
