"T18" would be the ordinary 6 mm/18 teeth knurled shaft. Not sure
about "T36" and "T40". Some Piher pots have many fine teeth but I
haven't counted them.

The number is the angle between the wiper and the flat of the D.
As far as I know, the usual configuration is to mate pots whose
flat faces away from the wiper with knobs whose indicator line
faces away from the flat. The end result is that the indicator
line is at 12 o'clock when the wiper is.
Blacet use normal pots with inverted knobs.
