[sdiy] The price of copper (you couldnt make this up!)

My ADSL connection has just come back on here, and the phone line with it.

Its been off since yesterday, whilst the engineers have been replacing the phone lines.


We're out of town here, and the phone lines are overland.  I can hardly believe it but somone actually saw fit to *steal* the phone 
lines to our entire village!

Ive heard of thieves stealing road signs, and lead flushing from roofs, but this is the first time ive heard of them going for phone 
lines!



Fiber optics - i know nothing about them - if the phone company fits them, are they going to be tempting to thieves also?
