[sdiy] how to view a quantizer staircase on a scope?

I sent this about 10 hours ago but it didn't seem to get through, so 
here it is...

Hi Dan,

I think everyone assumed when you mentioned VCO that a sawtooth wave 
from the VCO was driving the input of the quantizer.

So, put a sawtooth signal from the VCO into channel 1 of the CRO and to 
the input of the quantizer. Put the output of the quantizer into channel 
2. Trigger from channel 1.

I guess you could check it using x-y mode too. I assume that would look 
like a square wave but you could see any difference in the steps. Am I 
visualising this correctly?

On a side note - Is the Australian-English spelling "quantiser". I 
instinctively wanted to type it that way. We dont use Z's so much down here!
