[sdiy] learning from other digital sdiy projects?

hey there
since i am having a few problems in my experiments with AD/DA converters, i thought it might be good to learn from some schematics
which do a few things
1. take regular LiNE OUT audio from a soundcard or preamp and turn it into 0-5 audio for the ADC
2. add the proper offset at the output to bring it BACK to either modular audio levels or to LINE OUT levels
3. show a clock for getting up to HIGH sample rates (i think i need a clock that gets up 400khz)
i know that a lof the PIC projects might need a clock, and i also assume they might need audio offset to 0-5 volts
so if anybody can recommend some good projects to study, i would really appreciate it.
i feel bad asking so many questions.
my problem right now does NOT seem to be with the AD/DA chips but with the signal conditioning in and out and the clock.
anyway...thanks for all your help
