[sdiy] modding an lfo to have reset/sync

If I follow Amos's plan, do I need anything else at the control pin?
i.e. Do I just wire a jack straight to this pin and then feed it a
reset pulse from another module? or do I need some kind of input
protection (i.e. Zener) or any filtering?
