[sdiy] Coating aluminum

I just started using lasertran decals, and they are great! I'm doing the method where you print in reverse, put ink side down on panel, and bake.. The plastic and toner bake onto the aluminum. It's just about as good as silk screening. (but soooo much easier)
I was using krylon uv protectant clear acrylic coating (gloss), but didn't like the shine from it. I had no problems w/ durability, though, and I can not scrape it off.
Deft lacquer looks a lot better, but I have concerns w/ it aging/yellowing. I think I may just go w/ the deft. My synth is in my basement w/ no sunlight. Hopefully it won't age too badly.

Subject: [sdiy] Coating aluminum
Well, I've just put DecalProFX dry transfer decals on some bare aluminum
panels (it was a fairly frustrating experience, but I've just about got the
hang of it now), and I'm looking for something to coat the panels with to
make the printing durable. I've tried Krylon Matte Finish clearcoat, but I
can scratch it off easily with my fingernail. I'd like to use some kind of
clear lacquer (preferably acrylic), and I'm not looking to have to do a
whole lot of surface preparation.
Any tips?
